We just wanted to return your email with our feedback about our experience with Shenandoah Carriage Company for our wedding on May 29th. The carriage pulled up to the church right on time so that we were able to keep to the very tight schedule we had for the early part of the evening. The drivers were courteous - they were friendly but didn't talk too much (we had a few private minutes to simply enjoy being husband and wife!). It began to drizzle during our ride, and the drivers offered to pull over and put the top up whenever we needed it, but also had an umbrella for us which was the option we ended up using as we were so close to the reception location.
All in all, we decided that the carriage ride, while a bit of a splurge for our budget, was one of the best planning decisions we made. Not only was it fantastic to have a few minutes of quiet, alone time before the reception, but it also made everything seem more romantic. So many of our friends and family loved the touch (there are so many pictures of the carriage posted on Facebook!) We had an amazing experience with your company and would be happy to recommend your services to anyone else in the area.

It’s difficult to imagine there could be a finer conclusion to a 10th Anniversary celebration. I surprised my bride of 10 years with a Vis-a Vis tour in a country setting that was perfectly orchestrated by Suyen. I’d suggest she even had something to do with the perfect weather that followed a tumultuous storm just before we arrived. The professional and experienced talents of both Suyen and Levi produced a very memorable carriage ride. The accommodations leading up to the surprise were in itself a pleasant surprise. They both treated each step of the process with a very personal and concerning touch which is hard to find these days. I’ve really enjoyed working with this company and highly recommend their services. I’m hoping I have another occasion in the near future to use you again.

A touch of “Old World Elegance” is the only way I can describe the addition of the horse and carriage from Shenandoah Carriage Company, for our daughter’s wedding on June 16, 2007. And the photographs captured by our photographer with the horse and carriage as the backdrop, are our favorite images from the entire wedding.
Linda and Art are true professionals, who apparently love what they do for occasions such as weddings, and other special events. From my first contact with Linda to secure the date, through the site visit with Art to determine the route and photographic locations, right up to the wedding day, I was impressed with the professionalism, and willingness to accommodate our desires.
On the wedding day they were punctual (very important) and everything was perfect. The horses groomed, the carriage beautifully decorated, Art in his top hat and tails, and not only did Art (the driver) provide Emily and Michael a wonderful ride, but also provided Emily with a bottled water, when she started to feel faint during the photo session. This was above and beyond the call of duty in my book.
If you are considering the possibility of a horse and carriage ride for your special event, take my word for it, “It is truly a Touch of Elegance!” And Linda and Art with the Shenandoah Carriage Company are the very best.

It was one of the highlight of my daughter's wedding when Art of the Shenandoah Carriage Company arrived at the Norris House Inn with the majestic looking horses and the beautiful carriage to take the newlyweds to the restaurant for their wedding dinner. I had been in contact with Art's wife, Linda, a few months prior to the wedding and she could not have been more pleasant and accommodating as we made plans to have the horses and carriage for the wedding. Art looked terrific in his top hat and tails and I appreciate so much his patience (as well as that of the horses) as they waited for the photographer to finish with the photo taking. I want to thank you and Art for the wonderful service at the wedding last weekend. The weather did cooperate and the wedding was absolutely beautiful. The carriage ride was a highlight for Sean and Allison and made their day even more special as they had a chance to regroup and eat a bite while riding through the lovely grounds at Long Branch. I could actually hear a collective "ahh" from the guests as the beautiful horses pulled up right on cue after the ceremony and loaded the bride and groom into the carriage. It added a quite classy touch to an already wonderful and personal ceremony...and the look on Allison and Sean's faces as they drove away was priceless! I also say thanks to Art for his patience in waiting for the ring bearer to finish his picture duties before getting into the carriage for his ride with his brothers. Those 3 little boys were absolutely delighted with the ride and thanked me many times for allowing them to go. The photographer was wild about taking pictures of the carriage and I am sure she got some terrific shots of the bride and groom.....

We are SO HAPPY we spent the money to hire a carriage for our daughter's wedding! I have to admit that when I first saw the 'Cinderella Carriage' I thought 'Oh jeez.' But it was a tremendously popular addition to the ceremony; everyone LOVED it!

I have always dreamed for my wedding to be somewhat of a fairytale. The Cinderella Carriage made my wedding much more than that and surpassed all of my expectations. My mother surprised me with the Carriage and it absolutely took my breath away! When we pulled up and saw it there with two gorgeous horses, I couldn't wait to get out of the limosine and go for a ride! The carriage was beautifully decorated with all sorts of pink flowers and a precious "Just Married" sign. The driver was dressed like he just stepped out of the Cinderella storybook. The horses were so precious and they even painted their hooves with silver sparkles.
My wedding was in Roanoke and I couldn't get over how beautiful everything was and how well-behaved and patient the horses were after the two and a half hour drive down in the trailer. Shenandoah Carriage was happy to stick around for several hours and give the guests rides around the block.
If you are thinking of using one of their carriages for your wedding or special event, it is definetly worth it! Whichever carriage you choose, I'm sure it will look just as beautiful as it did on my wedding day! I wish I could do it all over again. Thank you so much for making it such a wonderful, unforgettable day!

The Cinderella Carriage was the highlight and focus of my entire wedding. After I booked the carriage I spent countless hours revolving my wedding around the Cinderella theme. I even found Cinderella Carriages for the table decorations. I used the Cinderella Carriage for my wedding day and it was the most beautiful one I have ever seen. It looked just like the real carriage in the fairy tale and all of my guests gasped when they saw it. Many of my guests complimented on its beauty and how nicely it enhanced my wedding, but my favorite thing about this carriage were the staff. My contact with this company was professional and made sure that I got exactly what I wanted for the fairest price. The driver was also very professional and very attentive. I loved it!

I just want to say what way to top off a wedding. Your pumpkin carriage was fantastic. Levi, the driver was so accommadating and polite. Several people commented "I don't know what it cost, but it was worth it.". I have to agree. At first I thought the cost was a little pricey, but putting into perspective that there were 2 trucks, 2 trailers, 2 people to drive the trucks, 2 horses, the carriage, the time on the road and then the time to prep the horses, it was a bargain. Also the fact that the horses have to be fed and cared for, fuel and insurance for the vehicles and the business, I don't see how you made any money. They were right, it was well worth what we paid. The professionalism of the fellows who brought the rig was great. The experience of riding in in the carriage was fun and exciting and pleasant. I would have loved to have seen the pumpkin at night all lit up as it does. We were blessed with a decent day in November to have an outdoor wedding and to have the Bride and her father, me, come up to the "Isle" in the pumpkin was a treat. The bride and groom left in it. It came back for pictures and what Levi termed as "VIP" rides for others. It was great!!! Thank you, Thank you very much!!(I'm an Elvis impersonator so I use this line often)
